CAMPGROUNDS

 

CHRISTOPHER CREEK

These facilities are open from April 1st through October 30th.  The grounds are located east of Payson on Hwy 260. Leaving Payson you’ll travel just over 17 and a half miles. The campground is positioned right next to the highway. The actual creek.. Christopher Creek wonders through grounds separating 2 loops.. A and B. There are 42 total sites, each with table and grille. Christopher Creek rates are $13 per day with a 14 maximum stay limit. There is potable water here. You’ll be roughing it as there are no flush toilets and no showers. Check the Payson Ranger District for more details at 928-474-7900.

 

PONDEROSA

This campground is closer to Payson at about 10.7 miles east on Hwy 260. It’s another seasonal facility open between April 1 and October 31. There are 6 loops in this campground, labeled A-F. It has 60 campsites with each having it’s own table and grille. The standard $13 per day fee is required and the maximum stay is 14 days. If you are a registered camper you can dump waste for $3. RV PARK FACILITIES

 

PAYSON CAMPGROUND

This RV park is east of Payson of .7 of mile on Hwy 260. You’ll find a swimming pool and a campground club house. Many activities are nearby including, casino gaming, fishing, mountain biking, movie theatres, golf and much more. The facility is open year round.

 

HAPPY JACK LODGE & RV

This full service park is located 39 miles north of Payson with much to do once you are there. You can use the full RV hookups or stay in cabins or suites.. you could even camp out in your tent. This full service facility features showers, laundromat, dump station and other amenities. If you need a place to store your RV, this might be the place. There is plenty of fishing nearby, horseback riding, hiking trails, hunting and guided tours.
